About me

I am an incoming assistant professor in the department of sociology at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where I will teach courses on the sociology of health and illness.

I received my PhD from the department of sociology at University of Illinois at Chicago where I taught courses on health, environment, social theory, and research methods. On this website you will find information detailing my academic work and other professional activities.

My research centers on how scientific research about the mind, the body, and the environment shapes social inequalities. I am especially interested in efforts to address inequalities related to race, gender, class, and sexuality by leveraging scientific evidence.

Environmental justice, queer theory, disability politics, infrastructure, and abolitionist approaches are also things I love to talk and learn about.

I use they/them/theirs pronouns.
